Reflections
from Elissa about her third book – My third book is my most exciting project to date. It is an endearing collection of stories for people of all ages designed to offer comfort and hope to the dying and the bereaved. For each of us, loss is an everyday occurrence whether it is with family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances or peers. This collection will give people hope that life goes on and help instill the simple truth that physical death is not the end, but merely a stop along the way. Since
the early nineties I have carried the vision for this book in my heart.
At that time I worked as a RN for Hospice of the North Shore. Probably
my greatest asset as a hospice nurse was my faith. Had I not gone through
personal tragedy and the loss of my twenty-nine year old cousin, Steffan,
whom I lived with for nine years, I would never be able to say with
conviction that I know that life goes on. Three weeks after his death,
Steffan came to me in a dream/experience. It was a dream like I have
never had before or since with intense emotions and colors so vibrant
they are indescribable. I saw Steffan healed, whole and happier than
I had ever known him in this life. And to my core, I knew he was alive
and well.
